Albert Charles "Abbie" Roth
January 17, 1939 - December 4, 2017
Albert Charles Roth “Abbie”, age 78, of Emma Lake, SK passed away peacefully at home with his dog Sammy by his side. Such sadness to bid farewell to such a beautiful person, but he left us with so many fond memories. Abbie is survived by his loving family: his son Darrell (Diane) Roth of McBride BC; grandson Adam (Emilia) Roth and great-grandchildren Lina, Aiden, Niklas and James; grandson Matthew (Chelsea) and grandson Mark Roth; his son Randy (Patty) Roth of Emma Lake, SK; grandson Michael (Meagan) Roth, granddaughter Jamie (Patrick) Lajoie and great-granddaughter Abigail; and granddaughter Kalli Roth (Travis); his daughter Lori (Lance) Fehr of Emma Lake, SK; granddaughter Brandi Fehr (Darren) and great-grandchildren Chelsea (Ryan and Dante), Sheridan and Kale; grand-daughter Tara (Cory) Quick and great-grandchildren Cohen and Brynae; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Abbie was predeceased by his loving wife Anne Roth (nee McClintick), his parents William and Mildred Roth, his sister Mary Steckler, his niece Linda Steckler, his sister-in-law Clistine Fisher and nephews Dwayne and Darwin Fisher. Abbie was born on January 17, 1939 in Regina, SK. He grew up the youngest of four children. The family grew up farming in Naicam. He was very proud of the fact that his father had one of the first combines in the area. After high school, Abbie went to Swift Current for flight training. Abbie moved to Prince Albert where he met Anne working at the Radio Branch at the Airport. After they married, Abbie took his CA. Abbie and Anne raised three wonderful children: Darrell, Randy and Lori. They moved to Emma Lake in 1974 and opened the Emma Lake Trail Rides, Emma Lake Bookstore, Greenhouse and Accounting Services. Abbie was passionate about the Lakeland Snowmobile Club, Lakeland Multi-use Trails, and Toastmasters and was a director for the Prince Albert Health Board. Abbie loved fishing, quadding, picnicking, golfing, skiing, baking and everything to do with the Lakeland area. He loved spending time with his grandkids and dogs. A celebration of Dad’s life will be held at his favourite place - Rothenburg Family Park at 2:00pm on Monday, December 11, 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Prince Albert Community Clinic or the Lakeland Snowmobile Club.
