Obituary for Norene Asplind

Norene  Asplind
March 28, 1927 – May 8, 2017

Norene passed away quietly on May 8, 2017 at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK with her loving family at her side. She was born in Melfort and raised on the farm in Pathlow until moving to Prince Albert in the early 50’s. She worked with the DNR until her marriage to Walter Asplind in 1956. She is survived by her son: Greg (Sheila) Ambler; and daughters: Jan Asplind and Sheila (Rod) Small. She was loved and will be missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Melanie (Mike), Mitchell, Brooklyn; Twyla (Jay) Bailey, Abbey; Kristen (Les), Breanne, Tyler, Nick; Lindsey; Jason (Kim), Kaden, Odinn; Rikki (Bernie), Erik, Anthony; Ryan (Jodi) Maielle, Zack; and Tynan (Kaytlin), Randi; Extended family: Mike, Autumn, Julie, Ashley (Ali), Monique and Nicholas. Norene was an extremely caring humorous person and loved all her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Norene was predeceased by her parents: Norman and Madge Ambler; her husband: Walter Asplind; her sisters: Vera (Josh) Storey and Daisy (Tom) Hulme; and grandson: Keenan Small; as well as several of Walter’s family. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 – 1:00PM at MacKenzie Chapel, 130 9th St E, Prince Albert, SK. In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Norene may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Kinsmen Telemiracle.
