It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Rose Anna Adam, late of La Ronge, SK, and Uranium City, SK on May 30th, 2023, at the age of 83 years. Rose Anna was born in Fond du Lac, SK on July 15th, 1939, to Fred & Elizabeth MacDonald.
Our mother Rose Anna lived a long, fruitful life having seen her great-great-grandchildren being born. She was raised in Fond du Lac, SK, and married Fred Adam at a very young age. In those days, it was a traditional marriage or arranged.
Rose Anna had many stories of her younger days, some of which were good, some not so good. She attended residential school for one year at 5 years of age. It was hard, and cruel at times, she said. This probably affected her life going forward. Rose Anna made her life a priority to the children and young kids. She deserves a lot of credit, she raised most of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was always full of kids, lots of laughter, and chatter filled her life.
Rose Anna lived her life to the fullest. She was really looking forward to her 84th birthday this July, and the family will celebrate to commemorate her loving, & fulfilled life.
A person’s life story is based on how much they cared for other people first and foremost. Rose Anna did this right up to her last breath, she wanted to be sure everyone would be ok, and it was then that she decided to go home to the other side. Her strong Catholic faith was with her right until her last breath and took her eternal breath after making the sign of the cross and praying. Our mom was also open to traditional ways of praying as well.
Rose Anna will be lovingly remembered by her sons Allan Adam (Brenda Nicolson), Alex Adam (Lisa Alexson), Archie Adam, & Alvin Adam; her daughters Shirley Disain, & Brenda Adam; her sisters Cecilia Marten of Fond Du Lac, SK, & Georgina MacDonald of Stony Rapids, SK; her brother Jules MacDonald of Stony Rapids, SK; As well as many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, & great-great-grandchildren.
