Obituary for Barry William Zelenski

It is with great sadness the family of Barry William Zelenski, of Birch Hills, SK announce his passing on January 31st, 2023, in his home of natural causes, at the age of 74 years. Barry was born in Birch Hills, SK on October 31st, 1948, to Bill and Jean Zelenski. Barry spent his childhood on the farm and in the town of Birch Hills before he met Audrey at the University of Manitoba. They married on July 3rd, 1971, and celebrated 37 years together, and while grateful, Barry always wished they could have had longer. Together they shared a love of family, proudly raising their daughters and creating a home on the farm. Barry stayed involved in the community of Birch Hills in many ways from being a fixture at the golf course to many curling teams, volunteering on boards, driving the mail route, and perhaps most memorably as a school bus driver for nearly 50 years, a role he absolutely loved. Barry was a dedicated husband and son, a loving dad and “GiGi”, and a loyal friend. He certainly left his mark on many and will be dearly missed.
Barry will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Jodi Miller of Saskatoon, SK, and Jana Zelenski of Nanaimo, BC; his sons-in-law Derek Miller and Jimmy King; His grandchildren Zane Miller, Sage Miller, and Reeve Miller; his sister Sharon Rude; and his brothers-in-law Errol Rude and Harvey Agnew.
Barry was predeceased by his beloved wife Audrey; his parents Bill and Jean Zelenski; and his sister Gail Agnew.
A Service of Remembrance will be held for Barry on Sunday, February 5th, 2023. at 2:00 PM at the Birch Hills Civic Centre in Birch Hills, SK. The Eulogy will be read by Jana Zelenski and Jodi Miller. The Honorary Pallbearers are Jana Zelenski, Jimmy King, Sharon Rude, Errol Rude, Harvey Agnew, Jodi Miller, Derek Miller, Zane Miller, Sage Miller, Reve Miller, and all those who knew and loved Barry, The Interment for Barry will take place in July 2023, when he will be laid to rest with his wife Audrey in Selkirk, MB.
