Obituary for Brayden David "Pud" Moosehunter

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Brayden “Pud” David Moosehunter, late of Cumberland House, SK on July 5th, 2022, at the age of 21 years. Brayden came into our lives when he was 23 months old. Since then, he was raised, loved, and cared for dearly by his parents, Sally & Chug. He grew up with his nephews, Drake & Zander. They were more like brothers. Brayden gained the nicknames “Brady” and “Pud the Stud”. Brady attended preschool at the Awasisak Head Start and continued his education from kindergarten to Grade 12 at Charlebois Community School in Cumberland House, SK. Brady graduated from grade 12 and got his diploma, in June 2021. “Mom, I’m going to graduate.” He was very proud to finish school. (He loved to sleep in. “Carriere Blood”) Brady made everyone proud of his accomplishments.
Uncle Pud loved to go fishing with his nephews Terry, Drake, & Zander. He was also taught the good life, “minopimatisiwin.” Brady’s brother Terrence loved teaching him life skills. Wintertime, Pud loved going to shovel the driveways for his teachers Brent & Jennifer Tunstall, Mary & Ingrid MacColl, & his late Uncle Ben. “Papa Ben” as Pud called him. Pud loved his social life, spending time with family and friends that became brothers to him. His aunties called him the “errand boy”. He didn’t hesitate to do things for them, especially for his mom. He was such a helpful young man. Pud’s favorite phrase was “I love you Mom”. He made sure he told her daily. “I love you too my son.”
Pud worked with his brother Cheeky, doing carpentry work in various places. He worked in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, & Alberta. Pud got to visit Niagara Falls, ON making memories with his family. Brady also worked at the local store, Chief’s Island. He was very happy that he got accepted to work in Lake Louise, AB.
The last thing Brady said to his mom was “When I get paid, I’ll send you money to buy dog food for Max.” and “I love you, Mom.” Pud was very thoughtful, humble, and the sweetest uncle, son, brother, nephew, and friend that anyone could ask for. He loved his little nephews Lukas and Kayson. He would talk about his mom and nephews daily.
Our little brother/son will be missed dearly by family and the many friends he made, especially his mom Shirley. Until we meet again, God be with you, Brady. We will forever love and miss you.
Brady will be lovingly remembered by his mother Shirley Carriere, his brothers Terrance (Olivia) Carriere, Duane (Crystal) Carriere, Shawn Moosehunter; his sisters Kayla (Junior) Carriere, & Ashley Winegarden; his special brothers Drake & Zander Carriere, Terry John, Kaydin Chaboyer, Denzel Cook, Jesse McKay, Kieran Thomas, Peter Fosseneuve, Keith Fiddler, Dakota Laurin, Junior Bloomfield & Jaiden Deschambeault; his godparent Sean McKenzie; his nephews Terry (Rayne) John, Ray and Phoenix Carriere, Brandon Budd, Duane Jr., and Dominick Carriere, Drake, Zander, Lukas, & Kayson Carriere; his nieces Trisha (Gerry) McKenzie, Donna (Nicole), Demi (Bradley), Diana Carriere, Missy & Wynter Budd; his great nephews & nieces Terry Jr, Marshall Hunter, Arwyn, Eowyn, Trinity, Freya, Arlene, Theo & Kassia Carriere, & Evie Dubois; his aunties Philomene Chaboyer, Evelyn McKenzie, Betsy (Norman) Constant, & Patsy Carriere; & his uncles Victor (Joanie) Carriere, Chris Carriere, Joe (Janet) Fiddler, Gary (Karen) Carriere, & Butch (Anna) Carriere.
