It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sharon “Shorty” Louise Johnston, late of Leask, SK formerly of Mistawasis, SK on June 21st, 2022, at the age of 58 years. Sharon was born on July 1st, 1963, in Shellbrook, SK to Lorna & Gordon Johnston. Shorty will be lovingly remembered by her companion Darryl Melton; her children Terri-Lynne (Alex) Crooks, Brandy Winchester, Tania Winchester, & Cody (Shana) Johnston; her grandchildren Liam Crooks, Brayden Winchester, Dominic Winchester, & Emma Crooks; her mother Lorna Johnston; her siblings Myrle (Wendy) Johnston, Delores (Mel) Werchola, Dean (Loretta) Johnston, & Michael Johnston; her extended siblings Kim (Kevin) Bear, Carmen Johnston, Lori Johnston, Gail Johnston, Carrie Johnston, & Andrea (Wayne) Johnston; as well as many other family and friends who loved her. Shorty was predeceased by her father Gordon Johnston; her brothers Owen “John” & Lionel; her sisters Pauline, Karen, Myrna, Cora, Wanda, Daryl-Lea, Marie “Ben” & Shirley “Tootsie”; & her grandparents Soloman (Mary) Johnston, & Jack (Annie) Isbister. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 25th, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Leask Lions Hall in Leask, SK. The Officiants will be Rev. Katherine Bretzlaff & Pastor Lorne Valuk. The Honourary Pallbearers will be Darryl Melton, Brandy Winchester, Liam Crooks, Tania Winchester, Emma Crooks, Andrea Johnston, and all those who shared in Shorty’s life. The Urn Bearers will be Cody Johnston & Terri-Lynne Crooks. The Interment as per Shorty’s request is to be cremated and have her ashes buried with family members at the Mistawasis Presbyterian Cemetery in Mistawasis, SK.
