Obituary for Eldon John Goertzen

Eldon Goertzen, age 38, the bright light in the family, passed away peacefully at his home, in the arms of his loving mother, surrounded by his special sports memorabilia, braille books, CD’s, favorite hats, & his Saskatchewan Roughrider Jersey, on Friday, November 5Th, 2021. Eldon was the #1 hockey fan of the La Ronge Ice Wolves & Prince Albert Raiders. He was smart & opinionated, had an interest in all topics, from politics to current events, sports, music & the latest cases in Judge Judy’s Courtroom. He loved AC/DC & Shania Twain, the weekly Thursday Pizza Nights & his morning coffee. He was pure, innocent, fun, & had a great sense of humour. Eldon was one of a kind. He was special, unique, & deeply loved. He will remain in our hearts and memories forever and will continue to be the greatest joy of our lives.

Eldon is survived by his loving parents Bev & Bob Goertzen, his brothers & partners in crime Curtis (Big Kurt) Goertzen, Tyler Goertzen (Chevy & Lincoln), & Ricky (Paige, Jake) Goertzen, his grandmothers Martha MacDonald & Evelyn Goertzen, his aunts Debbie (Stuart) Stephen, Jean (Morvan) Mercredi, Alice (Daniel) Powder, Lynda (Willow) MacDonald, Bertha (Scott) Harvey, his uncles Albert (Lena) MacDonald, Gilbert (Helen, Precious) MacDonald & Garry MacDonald, his cousins Kelly (Brady) Dibben, Brandy (Scott) Stephen, Mel (Tanya) Mercredi, Diane, (Mitchell) Arcand, Melanie Mercredi, Zachary (Jessica) Powder, Nathan (Gina) Powder, Andy Powder, Terrence Powder, Aiden Harvey, Taylor Harvey, Garret Robillard, Gerald Robillard, Helena Bouvier, Angel MacDonald, & Pierce MacDonald, his godfather Raymond MacDonald, his godmother Georgina Mercredi, as well as numerous cousins, relatives, and friends. Eldon is predeceased by his grandfathers Martin MacDonald & Charlie Goertzen, his grandma Swope, his aunt Irene Wilson & Aunt Jo, his cousin Amy Powder: his pets Stinky the Turtle, Dexter the cat, & Maya the beautiful dog.

A Private Family Wake Service will be held at the residence of Bev and Bob Goertzen on Wednesday, November 10th & Thursday, November 11th, 2021, in Prince Albert, SK. A Funeral Service will be held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral on Friday, November 12th, 2021, at 3:30 PM in Prince Albert, SK. The Interment will be held at a later date.
