It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Randy Clifford Badger, Late of James Smith Cree Nation, SK formerly of Sturgeon Lake First Nation, SK., on June 9th, 2021, at the age of 49 years. Randy “The Badge” Clifford Badger was born on July 8th, 1971, in Prince Albert, SK. Randy will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sandra Badger; his children Rhonda Shier, Randy Jr. Shier, Skylar Buckmeir, & Felicity Morin; his stepchildren Jo Sanderson, Ethan, & Tom, Krista (Matthew) Lechante, Leisha & Jordi; his 4 grandchildren; his sisters Mary Ann Moccasin (David), Donna Moosehunter, Mary Badger (Earl), Elizabeth Durocher (Ivan); his brothers Anthony Badger (Gloria) & Dean Badger (Frances); his aunts Lillian Crowe, Rosline Bird, & Donna Opoonechaw; his uncles Angus Bird (Nancy), Vernon Bird (Nancy), Clifford Bird, & Bill Opoonechaw; his friends Ferlin Stonestand, Randy (B2) Burns, Danny Stonestand; his nephews Joey Webster, Claude Turner, Junior Badger, & James Durocher; his foster mom Irene Ermine; his foster siblings Preston, Jan, & Adrienne (Rubin); his brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law (Chak), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, & uncles. Randy was predeceased by his parents Joseph & Wilma Badger; his brothers Wayne Badger, Darren Badger, & Rick Badger; his grandparents George & Charlotte Bird; John & Alice Badger; as well as numerous aunts & uncles. A Wake Service will be held on Thursday, June 10th, 2021, at St. Luke’s Church in James Smith Cree Nation, James Smith, SK & Friday, June 11th, 2021, 6 PM at the Sturgeon Lake Community Centre in Sturgeon Lake, SK. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 12th, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Sturgeon Lake Community Centre in Sturgeon Lake, SK. The Officiant will be Reverend Sam Halkett. Honourary pallbearers were all those who shared in Randy’s life. The Interment will take place at East End Cemetery in Sturgeon Lake First Nation, SK.
