Obituary for Boris Steven Horychun

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Boris Steven Horychun of Prince Albert, SK, formerly of Honeymoon, SK on March 31st, 2021, in Prince Albert, SK surrounded by family. Boris was born June 13th, 1932 in Honeymoon, SK to Leo and Anastasia (nee Palidwar) Horychun.

Boris was a devoted, loving husband to Leona for 64 years and together they had five children Steve, Donna, Larry, Darrell & Pat. Boris attended Padole School in Honeymoon, SK, he attended high school at PACI in Prince Albert, SK, and took evening classes to become an Electrician.

Boris moved to Kitimat, BC where jobs were plentiful. Boris and Leona lived there for a few years where they started their family and met lifelong friends. The decision was made to move back to Prince Albert to help his father on the farm and eventually take over when his parents retired, he also worked hard in the trades as an electrician.

Throughout his life, he worked hard but still found time to enjoy life with family and friends. In later years Boris and Leona enjoyed their winters in Kelowna, BC until Leona had a stroke. Once returning to Prince Albert, Boris and Leona enjoyed family, friends, bowling, Kaiser, gardening at the old farm, and helping at the church and his community. Boris was a healthy man throughout his life until Cancer took hold.

Boris was survived by his wife Leona (Casavant), his children Steve (Beth Malot), Donna (Blaine Mindiuk), Larry, Darrell (Pam Telfer), Pat (Randy Holinaty). His grandchildren Kirk (Carrol), Christine (Dan), Shannon (Kyle), Mitchell (Megan), and Taylor. His great-grandchildren; Austin, Kalea, Riley, Max, Jake, and Liam. His sister Helen, & Aunty Jessie Korpess. Boris is predeceased by his parents Leo and Anastasia (Palidwar) Horychun, his brother Bud, his sister Mary (Ken) Trapp. A Prayer Service will be held at MacKenzie Chapel, and a Funeral Service will take place at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Interment at Honeymoon Cemetery.
