Obituary for Isabell Bannister

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Isabell Bannister of Prince Albert, SK on March 30th, 2021 at the age of 83 years. Known by family and friends as Isabell. She was born on May 30th, 1937. She was raised in Prince Albert by her loving parents Mary and Samuel Nivet, who emigrated from Hawick, Scotland, after WWI. Isabell loved music and the arts and was always in a choir, be it the Watsonaires or St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church choir. She encouraged all her children to take up music in some form and she supported the E.A Rawlinson Centre where she held season tickets from its inception. Isabell worked as a SaskTel operator before marrying Floyd, a long-time printer at the PA Daily Herald. Once their children were older, she worked at the Dept of Northern Sask and then at Sask Health Home Care before retiring. Isabell attended St. Paul’s church since she was a child and remained active there throughout her entire life in groups such as the Lucy Baker Auxiliary & others, she was a Church Elder in later years. She was also active in the community through curling, the Caledonia Society, the TOPS organization, and she volunteered at many figure skating events, making many dear friends along the way. Isabell is survived by her son, Scott (Rita Wickes) of Victoria, BC, and their daughters Natalie (Tony Silbaugh) of Colorado and Meghan of Victoria, BC; her son Grant (Marnie Weiler) of Colorado; and her daughter Fay (Denzil Dixon, deceased) and their children Shae and Drake of Saskatoon, SK. Isabell was predeceased by her parents Mary and Samuel Nivet and husband Floyd. Isabell passed after a struggle with Alzheimer’s. A memorial will be planned for a later date. Revelation 21:4.
