It is with deep sadness and sorrow, the family of John Earl Primrose, Late of Blaine Lake, SK announce his passing on Wednesday, March 24th, 2021, at the age of 72 years in Shellbrook Hospital. John leaves to mourn his daughters Heather, Holli (Patrick O’Connell, his daughter Charlize O’Connell), Grandson Ashton Harbottle (his Dad Gary Harbottle & his daughter Kaylan Harbottle); Sister Katherine Primrose; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. John was predeceased by his beautiful wife Dianne Primrose, Mother Olga Erwin, Father Russell Erwin, Father Alfred Primrose. John was born on September 25th, 1948 in Kenora, Ontario. He moved to Saskatoon where he met his soulmate in Dianne. He became the most amazing, loving father to his daughters Heather and Holli. His pure heart and love were unmatched. He accepted everyone. When he became a grandfather to Ashton, his heart exploded with joy. Ashton was a light in his life like no other. John was incredibly generous and kind. To know him was to love him. He was magnetic, friendly, charming, and handsome. His love for his family was unparalleled. He loved his dogs so much; they were just like his kids. John loved camping and fishing with his family. Friday night movies and pizza-that was our time. He loved wood working, painting, and the arts. He loved and cherished his friends; he was at home in Blaine Lake. Thank you Gord and Pam Penner for always being the best friends and neighbors he could have ever had. He will be remembered as the ‘cool dad’, the most fun, loving, clever Dad, husband, son, brother, and friend. John was brilliant, observant, and welcoming. He was the best Dad and man you could ever cross paths with. We have learned so much from him. Pure heart, pure love.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests in memory of John, to donate to the Canadian Cancer Society. Family and friends may send condolences to or mailed to Primrose Family c/o MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 130 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0X5. Instead of a service, we will be having a gathering at a later date to be announced. Arrangements in care of MacKenzie Chapel & Crematorium – Shellbrook Funeral Home. Brian & Bev Stobbs, Renee Phaneuf & Mark Gyoerick. 306.763.8488.
