It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Ernest Naytowhow late of Sturgeon Lake, SK on February 14th, 2021, at the age of 81 years.  Joseph Ernest Naytowhow was born on July 8th, 1939, in Sturgeon Lake, SK.  Joseph will be lovingly remembered by his children with Loretta Elaine Naytowhow, Sherry (Milton) Eyahpaise, Clayton Naytowhow, Sonia Naytowhow, Shayne (Andrea) Naytowhow, Melissa Naytowhow; his children with Grace, Joseph Naytowhow, Aaron (Charlotte) Naytowhow, Pernell (Candice) Naytowhow, Connie Naytowhow; his adopted son Adrian Wallace Daniels; his siblings Peter (Doris) Naytowhow, Mary Rose (Ovide) Naytowhow, Lorna (Vern) Keller, & Debbie (Dale) Moosehunter; his nephews Tim, & Kenny Peekeekoot; his numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren.  Joseph was predeceased by his wife Grace Leona Ballantyne; his daughter Wanda Naytowhow; his oldest children’s mother Loretta Naytowhow; his grandchildren Valerie Baptiste & 2 at infancy; his parents Geordie & Margaret Naytowhow; his siblings Stella Peekeekoot, Beatrice Lecorre, Linda Naytowhow, Sandra Longjohn & 2 siblings at infancy.  Joe was a former SLFN councilor, Recreational Coach, an avid supporter of community events as well as Radio Bingo.  A Visitation service will be held on Wednesday, February 17th, 2021, at 2:00 pm at MacKenzie Chapel in Prince Albert, SK.  A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 18th, 2021, at 11:00 am at MacKenzie Chapel in Prince Albert, SK.  The officiant will be George Merasty.  The honourary pallbearers are Howard Badger, Roger Whitemore; Ballantyne Family (Montreal Lake); Gamble Families (BOCN); Radio Bingo players, and all those who shared in Joseph’s life.  Joseph’s pallbearers are Allan Daniels, Teigan Waditaka, Cordell Naytowhow, Adrian Daniels, Wade Gamble, & Harvey Naytowhow.  The interment will take place at Far West Cemetery in Sturgeon Lake, SK.  Condolences can be sent to the family on our website at www.mackenziechapel.ca.  Arrangements in care of MacKenzie Chapel & Crematorium – Shellbrook Funeral Home.  Brian & Bev Stobbs, Renee Phaneuf & Mark Gyoerick. 306.763.8488.
