Obituary

Glenn (Lyle) Byers September 8, 1930 – April 24, 2020, son of Frank and Ruby Byers (nee Sargeson) was born in Star City, Saskatchewan. His family then moved to Straun, Flin Flon, Colfax and then to Codette because his father Frank Byers was a grain buyer. Glenn joined the Canadian Air force right out of school, he was stationed in Whitehorse a telegraph operator. When he was discharged he moved to Codette and worked for the Railroad, then for the DNR again as a Radio Operator, then he worked construction and finished his career at the Post Office in Prince Albert, SK.

Glenn had a passion for dancing, music and astronomy. He was an athlete and played ball and hockey but excelled at any sport he tried. He loved socializing and had many friends.

Glenn is predeceased by his wife Irene G. Byers and his second wife Beatrice Walker, his brothers Vernon and Kenneth Byers and his only sister Marjorie Temple. He is remembered by his only son Kenneth Byers and wife Brenda Byers (nee Lorensen) and their daughters Clela and Gina Byers. Glenn has many nieces and nephews that remember him fondly as Uncle Glenn and ‘Uncle Bud’.
