Margaret Kathleen (Sollom) Evans
December 31, 1922 – May 30, 2019
Margaret passed away peacefully at her home in Birch Hills, SK at the age of 96 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Larry (Darlene), Connie (Ed), Fern and Keith; her grandchildren: Darrin (Kathy), Lyle (Kathy), Karen (Dane), Myron (Gail) Corelei, Alan (Lexine) Lorilee, Valerie, Scott (Jennifer) and April (Arlen); her 19 great-grandchildren; her brother: Arvin (Shirley); and her sister: Doreen (Floyd).
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years: Harry; her mother and father; her stepfather: Joe; her brother: Leslie; her sister: Rosella; and her son-in-law: Don.
She was such a wonderful woman and touched the lives of all who knew her. She drove her car until she was 94, didn’t have or require a doctor, and baked donuts in February when she was 96! Margaret loved to crochet and knit. In the last 8 years she had crocheted over 7000 baby caps for newborns in hospitals, many baby sweaters for the Church to send to 3rd world countries. She loved gardening and baking and was a great crokinole player. She enjoyed Cowboy Church and Thursday afternoons playing games at the senior hall. She and friends and relatives enjoyed many meals at Wong’s Café.
A Funeral Service for Margaret will be held on Thursday June 6, 2019 at 2:00PM at the Saron Lutheran Church located in Hagen, SK. Interment will follow the service at the Saron Lutheran Cemetery.
