Obituary for Samuel Warren McKnight

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Samuel Warren McKnight Jr. announces his passing on May 13th, 2019 in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 78.
Sam was born on March 18, 1941 in Edmonton, AB to Samuel and Peggy (nee Hepburn) McKnight.
Dad lived a life of his own design. He never did anything half-assed. He was focused and determined in any venture he jumped into. He was a veteran who had fond memories of his service, such as being an Honorary Guard for JFK’s visit to Canada in 1961. He loved to walk, to drink coffee, fish, listen to music and lived for family trips and gatherings. If he wasn’t doing any of these things he was working hard as a Journeyman Plumber. He worked till his body told him he needed to take time for himself. Even though his battle with Cancer took a toll on his body he battled on. He stayed stubbornly positive and quick witted to a fault. He will be loved and missed immensely but we take solace in our belief that he has been re-united with loved ones in Heaven having a coffee. He was a dedicated husband and supportive father through life’s journey. We will always cherish and hold dear his memories as well as the life lessons he taught us through his actions.
Sam’s memory will be forever remembered by his loving wife of 48 years: Blandine (nee Daigneault) and their five children; his son: Jerry (Lilly) and his two daughters Jazmyn and Taziana; his son: George (Crystal) and their children, Jordain (Winston), Damian, Alex, Kiarra (Ashton), Kalista (Thomas) and Kashton; his son: Keith (Cecile); his son: Samuel W III and his children Justina, Joshua, Jairus (Charmaine) Jarah, Jayda (Justin); his daughter: Francine (Thomas); his good friend: Art Turner; his four-legged friend: Bentley; and his brother Jim (Barb) and their daughters Janice (Richard) and Kathy (Sheldon). As well, as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Sam was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Peggy McKnight.
At dad’s request, no funeral service will be held. Anyone wanting to pay their respects may do so on May 16, 2019 at 6:00pm at McKenzie Funeral Chapel located in Prince Albert, SK.
