Obituary for Audrey Elaine Paterson

Audrey Elaine Paterson
September 22, 1953 - January 28, 2018
Audrey Elaine Paterson (nee Frederick), a long-time resident of Paddockwood, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at the age of 64 years.
Audrey was born to Ralph and Lois Frederick on September 22, 1953. She took her public schooling and two years high school in Paddockwood and the other two years at Composite High School in Prince Albert. She then took a secretarial course at Prince Albert Technical High School. After finishing, Audrey worked at the L.I.D. office in Paddockwood. She then worked at the Paddockwood Credit Union for many years. Audrey spent her final years of employment working at Armstrong Hillcrest Cabins in Waskesiu.
Audrey’s love and dedication to her family was her greatest gift and one which will live on in all those she surrounded herself by. Audrey’s life will continue to be celebrated by: her husband, Arnold; her four children, Curtis (Maxine), Rayanne, Joleen (Kent), and Chad (Cailie); her grandchildren, Liam Paterson, Marcus and Dawson Paterson, Landon and Mason Knox, and Alexander and Laura Paterson; her three sisters, Bev (Wilf) Martin, Heather Gray, and Penny (Russell) Nelson; her mother-in-law, Minnie Paterson; her brothers and sisters’-in-law Howard (Betty) Paterson, Audrey (Steven) Clare, and Sandra (Jules) Tardiff; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. Audrey was predeceased by her father, Ralph Frederick, her mother, Lois Frederick (nee Thorburn), her brother, Garth Frederick, a special uncle, Keith Thorburn, her father-in-law, Harry Paterson, and her brothers-in-law, Harvey and Earl Paterson.
Audrey loved. She loved sitting by the fire in the evening during the summer, watching the northern lights, sitting in the shade, admiring her flower gardens of Gladiolas, Lilies, Petunias, Dahlias, Marigolds and Sunflowers, watching the hummingbirds drink from the feeders, traveling the countryside during harvest to watch the combines, cooking shows, General Hospital, Dancing With the Stars, Survivor, The Curse of Oak Island, scoring eight enders in curling (“There is even a picture in the Paddockwood History Book to prove it!” she would say), watching curling and football (Go Riders!), Pig Eatin’ Good Cake, Reeses Pieces Peanut Butter Cups, making the BEST buns for her family (She actually hated cooking and baking, but loved to make her family happy.), reading (especially John Grisham books), old-time music, giving gifts, the colour green (or was it purple?), playing cards and Rumoli to all hours of the night, fall colours, Christmas lights, her Christmas village, decorating for Halloween, Bingo, the casino, telling Arnold what to do (especially right after he just sat down), and especially her grandchildren. Audrey loved nothing more than being with her grandchildren to watch them compete in hockey, football, baseball, basketball, and badminton games. She went to as many band and Christmas concerts as time and proximity would allow, and wanted nothing more than for them to be healthy, happy, and respectful individuals.
Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass… it’s about learning how to dance in the rain.
Vivian Greene
