Obituary for Brian Arthur Rude

Brian Arthur Rude passed away on August 27, 2017, in Prince Albert, SK, at the age of 68 years after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Donna; son: Trent, and his children: Rhea and Reagan; daughter: Jill (Jordan Bobinski), and her children: Holden and Peyton. Brian was born on October 16, 1948 in Birch Hills, SK. He started his career with Saskatchewan Wheat Pool in 1967. His job transferred them to various towns and cities in Saskatchewan where they made many lifelong friends. Following his career with Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, Brian and Donna moved to their home east of Prince Albert. Brian continued his career in agriculture, working for various companies ending with Horizon Fertilizers, a job he thoroughly enjoyed until his health would cause him to retire. Brian was an avid outdoorsman. He spent most of his free time outdoors doing his favourite activities - hunting, fishing or snowmobiling. The thing he loved the most in life was spending time with his grandchildren. He took in as many of their activities as he could and he loved having them on the farm. Brian was a great storyteller with a quick wit. His sense of humour will be missed by many.
Brian was predeceased by his parents, Einar and Ruth Rude; his in-laws, Charles and Lily Nelson; his sister-in-law, Della Pedersen; and a special uncle, Andrew ‘Gump’ Fjeld. He is also survived by his siblings: Errol (Sharon) Rude, Cheryl (Bruce) Ellison, Warren (Sharlene) Rude, Elaine (Philip) Stobbs; and by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Leone Inkster, Ann (Frank) Sackville, Elvin (Bernie) Nelson, Gloria (John) McManus and Larry (Joanne) Nelson.
The family would like to thank Dr. R. Ardell, Dr. K. Haider, nurse Dena, the staff at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre and Victoria Hospital for their kindness and compassion.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Birch Hills Civic Centre. Donations in memory of Brian can be made to the Saskatoon Cancer Centre, 20 Campus Drive, Saskatoon, SK, S7N 4H4.
