The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Sister Waltera Van Gennip can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Rev Deb Walker
Condolence: Sr Waltera was the real deal. In all the circles she travelled she was a gentle teacher. There are friends in heaven waiting for her!

Condolence From: Deanna Williams class of 71 Loretto Niagara
Condolence: Sister Waltera was a great teacher, a kind and supportive mentor and later, someone we could all call our friend. In a time when many did not encourage girls to pursue careers that were traditionally considered more for 'boys', Waltera instilled the notion that anything was open to us and possible if we wanted it and worked for it. Many of us myself included, took her advice ( and sr
Pat's too!) and we never looked back. Rest in Peace Waltera.
